Coming soon for macOS

Know what happens at your Mac – even when you're away.

Veymica watches the camera, the login screen and the USB ports, takes a photo of anyone who tries to get in and sends it straight to your iPhone. Freeze the screen from anywhere with a single tap.

One e-mail on launch day. We use your address for nothing else.

Features

One app. Every way into your Mac, covered.

Veymica brings camera surveillance and access monitoring together – in the menu bar, in a full Mac window and on your phone.

Live camera & microphone

Watch the stream in up to 1080p from your iPhone or any browser – on demand or always on.

Motion detection

A learning background model ignores lighting changes. Every event gets a photo and a video that starts about two seconds before the motion.

Who used your Mac

Successful unlocks, failed password attempts and logins after boot – each one with a photo from the camera.

USB monitoring

Every device plugged in or pulled out, with its name, vendor, VID/PID and serial number.

Guardian

Freeze the screen on every display from afar. It unlocks only with a one-time code or your guardian password.

Instant notifications

Push alerts via Pushover or ntfy, with the snapshot attached and a link that opens the event directly.

One timeline

Motion, access, USB, guardian and remote sign-ins in a single searchable log – on the Mac and on the web.

App lock

Touch ID, Apple Watch or a dedicated Veymica password. Even quitting the app requires authentication.

iPhone web panel

Add it to your Home Screen and get live view, events and settings in your pocket – no App Store needed.

Access monitoring

A photo of everyone who tries to get in.

Veymica follows macOS login events as they happen. Someone types a wrong password on your lock screen – and a few seconds later their face is on your phone.

  • Touch ID and Apple Watch noise filtered out, so you only get real alerts
  • Mac name, date and time burnt into every photo and recording
  • The original system log line kept with each event
Guardian

Freeze your Mac from anywhere.

Left your Mac unlocked at the office? One tap on your phone covers every display. The keyboard is captured, app switching and Force Quit are blocked.

  • Unlock with a 6-digit code sent to your phone
  • Optional second factor after every macOS unlock
  • Refuses to arm if you could lock yourself out
How it works

Up and running in minutes.

No extra hardware. Your Mac's camera and a phone you already carry are all it takes.

Install on your Mac

Allow camera and microphone access. Veymica starts with your Mac and lives quietly in the menu bar.

Open it on your iPhone

Scan the QR code from the Veymica window, sign in and add the panel to your Home Screen.

Get alerted

Connect Pushover or ntfy and you'll know about every unlock, failed attempt and movement – with a photo.

Privacy

Your Mac. Your data.

Recordings, photos and the event log stay on your Mac. No account to create, no third-party cloud storing your footage – you decide who gets to see it.

Stored locally

Recordings and events live on your disk, with automatic retention so it never fills up.

Secrets in Keychain

Passwords and tokens are kept in the macOS Keychain, never in plain files.

Private connection

Reach your Mac over Tailscale or your own HTTPS proxy. Every remote sign-in is logged.

Honest camera

The green camera light is on whenever Veymica uses the camera. No hidden recording.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

When will Veymica be released?

Soon – we're polishing the final details. Leave your e-mail and you'll be among the first to know on launch day.

Which Macs are supported?

Any Mac running macOS 13 Ventura or newer. Camera features use the built-in or a connected camera; unlock, failed-login, USB and guardian monitoring work without one.

Do I need to install an iPhone app?

No. Veymica serves its own web panel. Open it in Safari, add it to the Home Screen and it works like an app – live view, events and settings included. Any modern browser works too.

How do I reach my Mac when I'm away?

Through Tailscale (recommended) or your own HTTPS reverse proxy. Veymica shows the address and a QR code to scan, so pairing your phone takes seconds.

Which notification services are supported?

Pushover and ntfy. Each notification carries the photo and a link that opens that exact event in the panel.

Can someone simply quit Veymica?

Not without you knowing. Quitting requires Touch ID, Apple Watch or the Veymica password, and if the process is killed it starts again automatically. Turning monitoring off is reported to you too.
